Cordelia has made some big moves over the last few days. First off, she is now officially a three pound baby!
Second, after a little over 3 weeks of being intubated, her breathing tube came loose on it’s own, but instead of reintubating her, the doctors and nurses decided to let her try non-invasive NAVA ventilation again. So far she is doing great on this less invasive breathing support, and she seems to be happy to not have the breathing tube in her throat anymore.
Third, those first two things combined means she was able to graduate out of the small baby unit, and into a different room for bigger babies!
Cordie also wore her first proper “clothes” this week, modeling a very cute onesie with animals on it. The cuffs had to be rolled way up and her feet were swimming within the legs of the outfit, but her parents relished the photo op and cooed with delight upon seeing her.
