Cordelia is Home!

Last night we “roomed in” at the hospital, staying overnight in anticipation of Cordelia’s discharge today. We took care of her all night, feeding, diapering, and attempting to get her to sleep. Then this morning she was officially cleared for discharge! She was disconnected from her monitors, and they let us walk out of the NICU and the hospital with her!

It’s truly surreal and utterly wonderful to finally have her home, no wires or tubes attached, and to be fully responsible for her care. So much could be written about our NICU journey and our eternal gratitude to all the people who were a part of it. And someday I will… but for now, we’re going to soak up and savor every moment and emotion of having Cordelia at home with us.

Now the next journey begins, as we learn to be parents with a newborn at home. More than ever, we could use your support for this part! If you’re so inclined, we’ve started a meal train you can join at https://mealtrain.com/1e90mw
