September 19th update

Cordelia’s “house” has changed a couple times in the last few days. Since she is regulating her own temperature fine now, she first had an older style isolette that was smaller meaning we could get much closer to her. And then yesterday she was moved to a new Dräger model with a top that lifts (which is preferred while she is still intubated). Along with it, she also now has a brand new Dräger ventilator to match. These are brand new machines the hospital is just rolling out and she is one of the first to use them. They have an extra sensor that can tune the volume of breaths she is taking with each breath as opposed to the old manual process which was only done once every 12 hours. So now she is looking very sporty with her sleek new machines - the new isolette even has color changeable under lighting. 😎

She’s been enjoying our daily skin to skin time immensely lately, and her ventilator settings are ever so slightly being weaned. Her weight gain has been slow and steady but last night she jumped to 1312g, not a lot higher than last week but she also lost some swelling in her legs (which is good), and the bed changes have introduced some noise to the measurements.
