October 24th Update

Cordelia is taking to life on the second floor quite well. She moved to a low flow nasal cannula, which is the lowest level of respiratory support. She also has begun learning to bottle feed, and is currently in “Phase 1” of 4, where she attempts to eat 75% of her feeds once every 12 hour shift. Once she successfully accomplishes that four times in a row, she’ll move to Phase 2. Mom and dad are learning to bottle feed too which is a little scary but very rewarding. We are very impressed by our little girl’s natural instincts! Whatever she doesn’t manage to eat on her own she still gets via her feeding tube, which now goes through her nose to allow her full usage of her lips for suckling.
